Arcane Blast: Starfall

AB:S is the first spell in this textbook that utilizes offensive properties. Physical Strengthening was designed and created primarily for combat purposes.

The spell is extremely simple, but requires tremendous practice, just like the other arcane spells provided in this book. Later on, we’ll go over using this spellbook autonomously to help aid in your battles and adventures, but for now, we will cover the basics.

Although most can’t see it, the space between the world and the Manastream is lined with rows of invisible barriers, preventing anyone, especially a spellcaster, from accidentally tumbling onto the source of all magic. However, with Arcane, there are workarounds for this. We can use the infinite barriers as a way to pierce the energy around us, sending out beams of pure energy that can destroy and melt nearly everything they touch.

The main issue with this spell, despite its simplicity, is being capable of correctly outputting the required amount. If you only break a few barriers, then the output won’t be very long or very powerful.

However, if you overdo it, then you risk blowing yourself up due to an overload of magical energy coursing within you. This spell is best used when you’re in close quarters. That way, you don’t have to worry as much about output and distance.

Theoretically, you could shoot the spell quite far, but in order to achieve that, you must use an extreme amount of magical energy. It is highly advised against and should not be attempted.

As for visualization, see it as less about being calm or excited, but instead about shattering the plates before you like wooden planks during martial arts practice. You must visualize the plates before you as either extremely thick or incredibly thin. This way, you’ll be able to mentally and passively rewire your thinking process to output as much or as little energy as possible.

It's not an exact estimate, but you can assume one plate is ten meters. One plate should be sufficient for most battles. However, if you want to adjust width, envision bigger plates, and letting out slower but stronger punches or kicks will produce that result.

Fast but weaker = thinner beams, longer length.

Slow but stronger = thicker beams, shorter length.

Why is this called Starfall? Well, fun fact, I used so many at once one time that it looked like the stars were falling from the sky. At least, that’s what people told me. But don’t try this!! It’s extremely dangerous!!

(MORE FUN FACTS! I USED MY HAIR INSTEAD OF PUNCHES! KINDA COOL RIGHT?!)
